CS Machogu releases 2023 KCPE results, top candidate scores 428 marks

While announcing the results, Machogu announced that a total of 1, 406, 557 candidates sat for this year's KCPE exams.
The Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Thursday released the highly anticipated 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results at Mtihani House in Nairobi.
While announcing the results, Machogu announced the top student this year scored 428 marks out of 500.

This is a slight decline from last year where the top student scored 431 marks.
The CS announced that parents and candidates can get this year's KCPE results by sending the candidates' results by sending their index numbers to code 40054. The SMS will be charged at Sh25.
Candidates, their parents, and guardians can also access the results through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, county education offices and their respective schools.
While announcing the results, Machogu announced that a total of 1, 406, 557 candidates sat for this year's KCPE exams.
The CS at the same time announced only two candidates were involved in exam malpractices during the exams.
Machogu said one of the candidates was found with unauthorised notes while the other one was found with a mobile phone.
This year's results will mark the last examinations under the 8-4-4 education system which has since been replaced with the Competency-Based Curriculum.
